Privacy policy
Short version: this tool collects nothing about you. Your scroll test results never leave your device. Last updated October 4, 2026.
1. Data we collect
None. Mouse Scroll Test has no accounts, no sign-ups, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking scripts. We do not collect, transmit or store personal data, test results, IP addresses or device identifiers on any server we control.
2. Data that stays on your device
Everything the tool needs lives in your own browser:
- Test results and session history are kept in your browser's local storage so you can review past sessions. They are never uploaded anywhere.
- Theme preference (dark or light mode) is remembered in local storage for your convenience.
- Offline cache. A service worker stores a copy of the site's pages on your device so the tool keeps working with a flaky connection. You can clear it at any time via your browser's site settings.
Clearing your browser's site data permanently deletes all of the above. There is no server-side copy to request or delete because none exists.
3. Third-party services
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser fetches them, Google receives a standard web request (including your IP address) under Google's privacy policy. Apart from that, the site makes no third-party requests: no analytics, no ad networks, no social widgets.
4. Contacting us
If you email us (see the contact page), we receive whatever you choose to include — typically your name, email address and message — and use it only to reply. We never share correspondence with third parties.
5. Children
The site is a general-purpose utility with no age-gated content and no data collection, so there is nothing specific to disclose for children's privacy. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
6. Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes — for example, because a feature is added that handles data differently — the updated version will be posted here with a new revision date. Because we hold no contact details, we cannot notify you directly; the page itself is the record.
7. Questions
Privacy questions are welcome at any time via the contact page.
